Why Is Window Safety Film Used in Schools and Hospitals?
The Nissan Tekton is a compact SUV launched by Nissan in India on July 9, 2026, positioned to rival the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Renault Duster. It is priced between Rs 10.49 lakh and Rs 18.59 lakh (ex-showroom) across six variants: Visia, Visia+, Acenta, N-Connecta, Tekna and Tekna+. The SUV is powered by two turbocharged petrol engines, a 1.0-litre unit producing up to 100 PS and a 1.3-litre unit producing up to 163 PS, available with manual or DCT transmission options. Styled with design cues borrowed from the Nissan Patrol, the Tekton is manufactured at Nissan's Chennai plant and marks the brand's entry into India's most competitive C-SUV segment.
Why Nissan Named It Tekton
The name Tekton comes from the Greek word for craftsman or architect. Nissan has used it to signal a car built with deliberate engineering intent rather than a badge borrowed from an existing global model. The Tekton is built on the CMF-B platform, which it shares with the Renault Duster, and is the first of four new models Nissan and Renault plan to introduce in India through their alliance.
Nissan Tekton Price and Variants
The Tekton is available in six variants across two engine options and three transmission choices. Bookings are open for a token amount of Rs 21,000, with deliveries beginning July 20, 2026.
